The HVACR Leadership Awards continually searches for people who have made significant contributions to the HVACR field in Australia. One particularly prestigious category is “Contractor of the Year” and we are proud to announce that one of this year’s nominees for Contractor of the Year is one of Coles Air Conditioning and Refrigeration’s very own Mitchell Cousins.
What are The HVACR Leadership Awards?
The HVACR Leadership Awards has been running annually since 2015, giving due recognition to those who have exhibited excellence in the HVACR fields. The award categories are:

The Contractor of the Year award is a prestigious honour that recognises outstanding brands, traders, and small businesses. Nominees are chosen based on innovation, service, technical expertise, and excellence in the HVACR field. Some of the past winners of the Contractor of the Year Award include:

- 2019: Mark Simmonds of Simmonds Heating and Cooling, SA

Meet one of the finalists for 2021 Contractor of the Year: Mitchell Cousins
One of this year’s Contractor of the Year Nominees is Mitchell Cousins, owner and director of Coles Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in NSW. We’re proud to announce that Mr Cousins is one of our own.
Mitchell initially started as a technician. Through years of hard work, he has grown into the professional he is today. He has been with Coles Air Conditioning and Refrigeration for more than 20 years now, as its director.
Mr Cousins is accomplished in many aspects, but especially so in the HVACR field. Among the many skills and accomplishments that he has achieved are the following:
- Education and Training: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Certificates: Certificate Three in three different fields, which are Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (electrotechnology), Programmable Logic Controllers, and Industrial Instrumentation.
- Industry Knowledge and Specialised Skills: New business development, sales management, contract management, construction, customer, service, project planning, various HVACR-related skills, and many more.
- Advocacies and Causes: Science and Technology, Environment, Education, and Health.
He is also highly respected in the HVACR field. Mr Cousins has received numerous endorsements and recommendations, all a testament to his skill and expertise.
